The Gathering represents an assemblage of folks coming together to celebrate community and creativity in a welcoming venue that supports the arts and artists.

Afrikahn Jahmal Dayvs, founder of the JaZzLine INSTITUTE and radio host of JaZzLine SESSIONS on KKUP and KPFA, will emcee the show.
On Saturday evening, August 16th, 2025, vocalist Deborah Winters, pianist Ken Cook, bassist Sascha Jacobsen and percussionist Ian Dogole will unite to take their listeners on a musical journey that traverses distant lands and diverse styles. Percussion instruments from around the globe will collaborate with voice, piano and double bass in ever-changing configurations that showcase each member as the leader. They will perform original compositions and “covers” sourced from the innovators of Jazz, world music and other genres.
This is the fourth in a series of shows featuring this ensemble at the delightful Throckmorton Theatre. The first was presented during the pandemic (July 2021) and the most recent performance took place this past February in front of an energized audience of kindred spirits who propelled the band into the stratosphere.
We look forward to another unforgettable musical experience.
